Why we love it
Chococo was started in 2002 by Claire and Andy Burnet in a small kitchen in Swanage on the Dorset coast. The idea was simple and quietly radical: make fresh cream chocolates the way a patissier makes pastry, by hand, in small batches, with ingredients you can actually name. Over twenty years later, that's still exactly what they do.
Everything is made in their Dorset workshop using quality couverture chocolate and fresh cream. The ganaches are made with real dairy which means they taste different from anything you'll find in a supermarket. It also means they have a shorter shelf life, which is their way of saying: eat them soon. They come in beautifully packaged gift boxes and seasonal collections that feel considered, not corporate.
If you know someone who takes a long time to choose a single chocolate from a selection box, who takes their hot drink seriously, or who considers a slow afternoon with something delicious a form of self-care then this is the shop.
